- Jim Davidson found fame as a standup comedian on the 1970s show New Faces, which was like Britain’s Got Talent without the helicopters.
- He took up residence on television, delighting audiences with jokes at the expense of anyone who wasn’t male, white, heterosexual and English. But it was all in good fun.
- His catchphrase of “nick nick” was something to do with the police. Usually a joke about being stopped for drink driving, we seem to recall. It was a long time ago.
